I
have had a fear of dogs for most of my life. I like all other animals
but dogs really frighten me. I even had
to /have to turn off the television
when dog comes on the screen. The fear comes from my childhood: when
I was only about three I was bitten by a dog. My parents took me to
hospital and I must/had to
have three or four painful injections- they were worse than the
bite! At school my best friend had a dog, and every time I went to
her house she had to/ has to
put him in another room because I was afraid. Today I have
to /has to cross the road if there’s
a dog in front of me. I know I really have
to/ must do something about my fear,
and I have thought of a phobia workshop, but in these you must/have
to go near dogs and touch them. I don’t
think I could do that. The main problem now is that my boyfriend and
I want to get married, but he has two large dogs. We have two
choices: he must to/ has to
get rid of his dogs or I had to/have to
get rid of my fear!
